stevem49 Posted 5 November , 2006 Share Posted 5 November , 2006 Whilst taking photos of my 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters at Sebourg, I came across 8204 L/Cpl George YOUNG killed 24/08/1914. I presume his body was found nearby after WW1. I believe that his brigade formed near Valenciennes on 22 August 1914 and was wondering if anyone had further info. Of the 56 known graves in the cemetery he is the only 1914 man. All the others from 1918 and most November. stevem

Thanks. I will have to do some digging to see why he ended up in a 1918 battlefield cemetery. He must have been buried somewhere nearby on 24th, unless his one grave was the basis for the cemetery in 1918. stevem
