Graham Stewart Posted 5 November , 2006 Share Posted 5 November , 2006 I'm afraid I can only identify the lad with the cap badge and that's Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry. Graham.

Steven Broomfield Posted 5 November , 2006 Share Posted 5 November , 2006 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers) was identical except for VI/DG in the centre, wasn't it?
Graham Stewart Posted 5 November , 2006 Share Posted 5 November , 2006 Steven, You're right forgot about that one, but with this photo I guess we'll never know as apart from the outline you can't really tell. Graham.

Staffsyeoman Posted 6 November , 2006 Share Posted 6 November , 2006 There might be a faint hope if you could get it through some digital photo trickery and enlarge it; the centre of the 6th Dragoons' cap badge (with the VI/DG on it) was white metal when all around was brass; the Hampshire Yeomanry's was brass with the central rose in white metal. (the picture posted looks like an officer's bronze service dress badge from here) A long shot, but possibly worth a try...
