jimmyjames Posted 2 November , 2006 Share Posted 2 November , 2006 I would be most grateful for any clues which may be gleaned from this photo. I have little info on the sublect, but it might well be one of the Cheshire brothers of Cheltenham, possibly Al(Bert). Looking at the collar badges, they could well be the flaming bombs of the RFA or RE and can I see a couple of wound stripes on his left forearm? Is that a badge of rank on his upper arm? Any clues, including approximately when taken would be very much appreciated. Regards Jimmy

cliff brown Posted 2 November , 2006 Share Posted 2 November , 2006 My guess is the picture was taken in the mid 1920s; I think that was when collar badges were introduced. Someone will no doubt know more or correct this if I'm mistaken.
