They just had a lovely feature of Henry Allingham meeting one of his enemies and they got on so well. Showed some photos of him when he was younger and they took him back to France 90 years on.

It may be on the later evening news tonight.

It was good to see him looking so well.

Hi

I was fortunate to speak to Henry Allingham this year, abeit not too long, and one of the things I do know is his Birthday was June 6th 1896.

Going back a year or so and the press made out Charles Kuentz was the last German survivor, even though he was from Alsace.

Interesting link.....

In June, as others have pointed out. As the Editor of the Fleet Air Arm Association journal (and one who 'can do things on computers') I was asked to produce a birthday card. I had uploaded pictures of this card to this forum but now cannot find them. However a look at:

Henry Allingham's 110th Birthday card from the FAAA will find it.

I certainly enjoyed watching it, but I am sure I heard South Today's Ms Taylor describe him as General at the end of the piece.

An amazing man Henry Allingham, God bless him. A General, heh! I bet that gave him a chuckle if he heard it!
