Can anyone tell me what type this aeroplane is?

It was donated to H.M. Government by employees of the British railway in Buenos Aires in 1915.

I had to reduce the photo considerably, so the tail is missing. It has number 2574 on it, not sure whether that would help.

RS = Reserve Squadron; HDS = Home Defence Squadron; RS HD = Reserve Squadron, Home Defence - I presume. Can't work out what a/c and AZP stand for.

Ah! Thanks, Dolphin. At least I worked out what the other initials meant.

The aeroplane is a Royal Aircraft Factory BE-2c, fitted with a 90hp RAF V-8 engine and the later type of undercarriage.

It was at the time, the most numerous RFC/RNAS type. As I expected, others with better archives than I have more information on its individual history, but there's a little more on the general BE-2 story on our website, www.biggles-biplane.com if you're interested.
