I have come across an “In Memorandum” entry for Fred Shaw in the Holmfirth Express and I am trying to decide whether this man lived in the Holmfirth area or whether it was just his girlfriend Clara who was local. The CWGC gives his mother’s address as Honley which is a couple or three miles away, but she could have moved.

I would appreciate place of birth, enlistment and residence if given. The man is:

12th Bn. East Surrey Regiment
