love4history Posted 27 October , 2006 Share Posted 27 October , 2006 Goodmorning Gentlemen, Stumbled upon a South African Victory Medal named to T. Scotter, AFS First thought was that this would be the American Field Service (ambulance) The absence of a rank and rgt nr would support this as AFS was a voluntary non-military unit. But... how would someone serving in this (American) unit would win a South African Victory Medal? Were there any South Africans in this unit? Wouldn't they automatically be drafted into the military?
