historydavid Posted 25 October , 2006 Share Posted 25 October , 2006 Bernie, No one of that name is listed as having died in naval service. Best wishes David
Armoured Farmer Posted 25 October , 2006 Share Posted 25 October , 2006 Barrie, The page the link opens has a download button. It will cost you £3.50 to get the register of service, similar to the one at the top of this page: - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalog...p?sLeafletID=39 but only in black and white. Unfortunately you have to gamble as to whether this is your man. Shipas and shore stations that he served on are listed on the register. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 27 October , 2006 Share Posted 27 October , 2006 If you download the record in the link, you will get the service register of the man menioned. That will list all the ships he served on from 1899 when he enlisted until when he was discharged, promoted to be an officer or 1929, whichever was sooner. You could research those ships and see their war service; that could include the Boer War, Boxer Rebellion or other colonial wars as well as WW1. RN service registers do not give home addresses.
