8th Battalion Royal Berkshires

I am looking for details of an action the 8th Royal Berkshires we in on the 13th of October 1915. Specific mention of 2nd Lieutenent Cyril Spartali would be a bonus as I'm researching his story and he was killed in action with the battalion that day.

You can search the war diaries for the battalion at the link below, the 13th October 1915 gives a good account of the action that day ....your man gets a mention on the 22nd October 1915, for those KIA.

Have you seen, A GROUP PHOTOGRAPH - BEFORE, NOW, AND IN-BETWEEN?

The site has some information on your man. It belongs to Andrew Tatham who is researching a group photograph of the officers of the Battalion taken at their training camp on Salisbury Plain in July 1915. Spartali is one of the officers in the photograph.

Andrew gave me a lot of help with an officer I was researching and he may be able to assist you with Spartali - worth a try anyway.
