Guest gerritjan Posted 10 November , 2003 Share Posted 10 November , 2003 Yesterday, the 9th of november I attended the Remembrance day ceremony at the Canadian military cemetery in Groesbeek, the Netherlands. This was the first gathering in the Netherlands for this purpose. The Groesbeek cemetery contains nearly 2500 graves from the battle for the Reichswald in Germany (january-february 1945). It was an austere ceremony with banners, anthems, military ceremonial and prayors. However I was surprised that there was no word on the first, nor on the second world war. Did I misunderstand this ceremony?
Terry_Reeves Posted 10 November , 2003 Share Posted 10 November , 2003 My mothers's fiance was killed during the battle of the Reichswald Forest. Remembrace transcends many years, wars and battles. Terry Reeves
