Chevrons on the sleeve

This picture of my grandfather was taken long after his Great War service in Egypt and Palestine.

Could somebody please tell me what these chevrons on his lower right sleeve indicate?

Denote Overseas Service.

Came out in 1918.

Red One 1914

Blue for other years.

Your Grandfather has 4 years overseas service when this photo was taken. As they all look the same colour they'll all be blue.

So Overseas Service from 1915 - 1918
