roel22 Posted 14 October , 2006 Share Posted 14 October , 2006 In the same quarry where the Bremen Redoubt was found back in the 80's another German dugout was discovered yesterday. Probably dating from june 1917. Several items like a helmet, a bayonet, a spade and wine-bottles were found. At a depth of ten metres a tunnel was also discovered, but this hasn't been properly examined yet. Read the newspaper-article (only in Dutch, sorry) at http://www.gentenaar.be/Article/Detail.asp...cleID=GGC136IEN Or watch the news at http://www.vtm.be/nieuws/index_bekijkonline.htm (friday 13th, item almost at the end) regards Roel
bkristof Posted 14 October , 2006 Share Posted 14 October , 2006 To clear this out... About the 'tunnel'. We suspect that there is a dugout nearby BUT if it is outside the claypit, we will not be able to search it. We aren't 100ù sure were it must be. So all is still in research stadium. roel22 Posted 14 October , 2006 Author Share Posted 14 October , 2006 Visiting the Bremen Redoubt back in 1987 I already wondered how many more secrets this quarry would reveal.
