Guest jan46 Posted 12 October , 2006 Share Posted 12 October , 2006 This is my second post about my grandfather (George Pegram) and what he did in WW1, and you have been helpful. So one more question, we have always been told he ran away when he was under age to go to the Boer War, would it help me if I started the search there and can anyone tell me how to go about this. Thank you for your help,Jan
John_Hartley Posted 12 October , 2006 Share Posted 12 October , 2006 would it help me if I started the search there Probably not, I suspect. I'd start with the known provable facts (which will be more recent) and work backwards. Facts such as what his age would have actually been in 1901/2. Or what his WW1 service was and does this give any clues. Is he on the 1901 Census (which would mean he was in the country). It's an uncommon surname so should be easy to track through John
