My great uncle whom was killed in action on 4/11/1918

As Thurnscoe is between the above towns I would be very pleased to hear from anyone with knowledge in regards to the local papers of the day that might have reported his death and how I can obtain details, local library source etc.

40463 Private Hubert Bartle

Date of Death: 4/11/1918

2nd/4th Duke of Wellingtons

He enlisted in Mexborough but lived in Chapel St, Thurnscoe.

The Doncaster Chronicle and Doncaster Gazette will both be useful. I haven't accessed them for a few years, they are on microfilm in the central library.

It might be worth giving them a call and seeing if they have a number of one of the regulars who is willing to do some research.
