Could anyone tell me the whereabouts of 2/4 Bn. Leics. Regt. on the 25th March 1918.

CWGC lists 202227 Pte. Albert Whitaker Pottage as having died on that date. Soldiers Died CD agrees the date but records him as kia. He's remembered on the Arras Memorial.

I've visited the Long, Long Trail but that only provides information about the opening day of the battle on 21st March. Martin Middlebrook's 'The Kaisers Battle' says the 2/4th were brought up and defended the rear of the Battle Zone on the 21st, but of course his book concentrates on the first day.

I realise the casualties were heavy and this leaves me wondering if Pte. Pottage did die of wounds, or did the 2/4th continue fighting up to and beyond the 25th March.
