Hello

I am not sure if this question has been asked before , but has anyone from the forum been on any of the helicopter flights over the Somme?, after our recent trip we have been taliking of doing so but wonder what you can see and how long the flights are

We did see the helicopter flights from around Newfoundland Park , I'd love to see some aerial photo's !

Regards

Andy

Andy - I'm sure I read in an earlier thread that the passengers in the helicopter weren't allowed to take photographs, because the helicopter operator made a little extra by selling photos himself. This sounds incredible but I'm sure it's what someone said.

You can rent a plane (with pilot, of course) from the airfield on the hights above Meaulte near Albert. You can take as many photos as you want. Best in the winter when the trench lines are visible.

I did these some time ago but still think this could be done across battlefield - and no, not just for July 1!!

Many thanks for the great links from all the forum members today, I like the idea of overlay pictures, here's one of my own

Do any other members have these type of pictures that myself and Desmond7 have done?

Cheeky monkeys on the helicopter flights, but I suppose it's a good money spinner!
