He was a lance corporal when he died Aug 6 1915.Information from VAC dept.,Burial cem Helles Memorial. Would he have joined in the UK or Canada? Hi Geoff, Thanks a lot for the info and photo .I was in Studley years ago,but wasnt looking for 'bones' then!!I cant understand why or how he could have the Canadian cross of honour when he enlisted in redditch .I do know some of the family went there. I dont know what year he enlisted or where i could find a medal card for him . See linkVeteran Affairs Canada Doris Hi Doris, Thanks a lot for the site & info, yes I have found him on the Canadian Memorial,dont know why [when he enlisted in England] As Owen said '' a lot of ex pat Canadians & Aussies went back to sign up.'' Redditch is only a few miles from where he was born. Ah well I'll just keep digging& try to find a ship he may have gone on.I suppose he must have gone to Canada. Thanks again from ricoba in aust.
