alan jones Posted 2 October , 2006 Share Posted 2 October , 2006 Hello , A lady is trying to research her great great grandad, he was with 2 Batt. Grenadier Guards in 1878 and on the 1881 census he is recorded as being at Chelsea Barracks. She would like to know how she might find out more information please. joseph Posted 2 October , 2006 Share Posted 2 October , 2006 Alan, Most Central reference Librarys will have the History of the Grenadier Guards, a good start will be finding out which battalion he was in and looking up the history. His service documents should be held I think at Wellington Barracks, Im sure a more well informed pal will let you know. Regards Charles
