Hi All, :)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how and where 2nd Lt Humphrey Cole, 9th Devons was wounded. He died of wounds on 3-4-16 and is buried in Corbie Communal Cemetery.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Tim.

Hi All, :)

I have just downloaded the War Diary for that month and it appears he was shot in the head by a sniper earlier that day. I would be most interested if anyone could add any other information.

Cheers

Tim.

Tim,

Don't know if you are still on the forum, but I would also be interested to know more about Humphrey Cole. I do not have a 100% match on address but I am pretty sure that he was one of my Rosslyn Park rugby players. See my website, although HP Cole is not posted yet.

Marlborough College, in the OTC 1911-12, at Kings College London , studying Engineering.

Casualty Form at Kew states that 23 Field Ambulance treated a serious GSW to head, he went to 21 CCS and later DoW, Various other info I am happy share, if you receive this. Will also try a PM
