William Stevenson Posted 26 September , 2006 Share Posted 26 September , 2006 I would like to express my gratitude to all the members of the Great War Forum who helped me in my search for "The Fallen" from the village of Cowie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. To Kevin, his son and Malcolm for attending on the day and how proud Kevin looked as he laid that beautiful wreath on behalf of the 11,000 members of the forum, I know he had a tear in his eye just as I had in mine as we laid our wreaths. I could not believe how big the day turned out to be and what was more poignant, they all stood fast in spite of atrocious weather conditions to pay homage to our heroes. As was pointed out by the Provost of the City of Stirling, that was the same conditions the men faced on the eve of The Battle of Loos 91 years ago to the day. When people turn out in numbers, military and civillian as they did in Cowie on Sunday, we can truly say, "WE WILL REMEMBER THEM" tHANK YOU TO ALL. William Stevenson.
