gnr.ktrha Posted 20 September , 2006 Share Posted 20 September , 2006 Hello, He is a member of the Royal Regiment of Artillery. At this period there were 3 branches of the regiment, Royal Field Artillery[RFA], Royal Garrison Artillery [RGA] & Royal Horse Artillery [RHA]. I would say the photo was either Pre War or early WW1 as the style of hat he has was not often seen later in the war as they began to make an economy version without the stiffener inside the peak and brim. If he served in a theatre of war he would be entitled to service medals, you can check this if you go to the national archive website. hope this helps, Stewart
