Guest Simon Bull Posted 4 November , 2003 Share Posted 4 November , 2003 Can anyone please tell me where, in the area of Ypres, " Pommern Castle" was? I have seen it referred to in the War Diary of C. Battalion of the Tank Corps as marking a starting point used by 8 Company of the Battalion when they were in action on 21-22 August 1917. Ken Lees Posted 4 November , 2003 Share Posted 4 November , 2003 It's a little to the south-east of the village of Wieltje. If you have the St. Julien trench map (28 NW2) it is on there. There is a road that runs south of the Ypres-Wieltje road and one to the south of it that runs almost parallel to it. Pommern Castle (also known as Pommern Redoubt) was between the two.
