Guest Michael Matthias Posted 10 September , 2006 Share Posted 10 September , 2006 What would the following information written on a medal card belonging to a private in the South Lancashire Regiment mean: There is a # under the first line indicating the soldiers regiment then further down: # IND.GS.AFGN.NWFF.1919.ROLL.16691-59 It appears under the description of an awarded medal. Guest KevinEndon Posted 10 September , 2006 Share Posted 10 September , 2006 Welcome to the forum. Looks like India General Service Medal with Arghanistan and North West Frontier clasps attached. The roll is an index for the medal roll at the National Archives at Kew, London.
