Simon R Posted 31 October , 2003 Share Posted 31 October , 2003 Dear All, Does anyone know if any 4.5" howitzers survive in the UK? I know they saw service in WWII and I think became obsolete in 1944 (if memory serves and it probably doesn't) and so may have endured for longer. I think there's one at Duxford but that's miles away from me near Leeds. It can't be the only one left - can it? Simon, Otley.
Geoff Parker Posted 3 November , 2003 Share Posted 3 November , 2003 Simon There is a very fine example of a 4.5 at "Firepower" in Woolwich (part of the old Rotunda collection). There is (or was) at example in the military museum at Mons three years ago, although the condition was nothing like the one at Woolwich.
