fadedgenes Posted 24 August , 2006 Share Posted 24 August , 2006 "No Mother's care did him attend, Nor o'er him did a Father bend, No Sister by to shed a tear, No Brother his last words to hear." I had a photo sent to me today of a gravestone (non CWGC - a family memorial), and the verse above was inscribed on the stone. Does anybody know the origin? A Google search found other examples, but no derivation. Ta.
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 24 August , 2006 Share Posted 24 August , 2006 Not sure of its origins but there is a "fuller" version in dedication to a Rifleman Fred Waters:~Pursey Try a search for "Did Him Attend..."it seems to originate from Australia
