Officers and Enlistment

Hello All,

Can anyone help please? Are there any sources available which might tell me which towns and cities officers enlisted? Nothing on ODGW [hard copy], and only Residence and Next of Kin [where found] on CWGC. Are there any other sources I can check? I'm looking for Officers who served and died with the 10th West Yorks betwen 1914 and 1916.

If you have names [from the Monthly Army List] you can search the files at TNA, and the papers will show the detail of commissioning: when and where. Army List will give date of first commission or most recent promotion.

I was thinking of working around obituaries and local sources, and anything else that the Local History Library might hold, so it looks like the TNA it probably is. However, where might I find a copy of the Monthly Army List, is this also held at TNA too?

Large libraries often have various odd months, but not often a complete set.

TNA has a full run on open shelves. Cardiff has a good set.
