Remembered Today:

War Graves in Baghdad

I know have photo's of all my Munn brothers graves and war memorial's in France, Belgium and Turkey.

But no photo's of Daniel Munn's grave in Baghdad. I doubt I ever will, what with the trouble there.

I have often wondered what state would it be in? What with all the bombing there, and maybe worst :(

Sadly as of January 2006 they were in a dreadful state having been virtually destroyed:~

This site shows the devastation @ that time, the damage was indiginent rather than bombing or military action,as you will see the Bronze work from the Cross of sacrifice has been looted. :(

So it does - sorry, didn't read the post properly!

One of those I'm researching is on the memorial there:

2LtWallace Dawson Boulton, 7th Bn. Gloucestershire Regt.

Bob.

My great uncle is buried in North Gate.

They died in the war, and they are buried in a war zone

I wish I could bring them all back home.
