Having already made the mistake of buying "Her privates we" and "Middle parts of fortune" only to find they are the same book.... I don't want to get caught out again!

Does anyone know whether the two titles in the subject line, both by McWilliams and Steel, in fact the same book? On Amazon, it looks as though they were published only 4 years apart, and it seems unlikeley that the authors would have written two different books on the same topic..... or does it?

Thanks!

Yes they are. A reprint under a different name by a different publisher.

True - to a point. Her Privates We by Private 19022 published 1930 was an expurgated version of the privately (and anonymously) published The Middle Parts of Fortune. The salty language of Tommy in the trenches in Middle Parts... was not available for widespread public consumption until the 1970s. Many Pals' bookshelves will have both versions.
