isanders Posted 7 August , 2006 Share Posted 7 August , 2006 Can anyone recommend any books on the Home Front, particularly London? I've been reading "Battle of Britain 1917" and I'm keen to know more about the levels of panic these raid generated and what day to day life was like. thanks Ian
Tom Morgan Posted 7 August , 2006 Share Posted 7 August , 2006 There's also "The Home Front in the Great War" by David Bilton and, continuing the theme you've started by reading "Battle of Britain 1917" there's also "The First Blitz" by Andrew Hyde, which pays great attention to the reaction of the public. J Banning Posted 18 August , 2006 Share Posted 18 August , 2006 All Quiet on The Home Front by Richard van Emden and Steve Humphries is very readable. Some good stuff in there. I really enjoyed it and recall other Pals did too. Try a search for it on the forum. cheers
