MikeS000 Posted 6 August , 2006 Share Posted 6 August , 2006 While it looks like the Glengarry I found is WW2 vintage, it will do till an earlier one can be found. However, the "ribbons" (I'm sure there is a correct name for them) are missing from the rear of the cap. Was this standard practice to remove them? If not, could someone provide the dimensions (LxW) as I would like to replace these. Thanks and best regards, Mike

DrB Posted 7 August , 2006 Share Posted 7 August , 2006 Happy to be of service...... At least those are the dimensions on my Argyl and Sutherland glengarry. I have no idea as to why the removal of the ribbons occurred. Those, by the way, are traditional and were once actually threaded through the feather bonnet, hence the "dicing," and drawn tightly at the back of the bonnet to custom fit it to the wearers head.
