The only reference I have is France/Flanders..sorry cant be more precise - the book however only makes ref to 1/6th and 2/6th and Im assuming the 6th is the 6th battalion as I cant remember!

On 11 November 1918 the 6th Manchesters were in the Forest of Mormal, near to the hamlet of Hagnies & billeted in the municipal school at Hautman. During thethird week of December the battalion presented a carved oak memorial plaque to the village which was placed in Hagnies church - where it remains to this day. Private H I Jones carved the plaque and the inscription was painted by Private C C Farmier.

On the morning of 27 September, together with the 5th & 7th Manchesters, the 6th Battalion attacked Trescault ridge losing a large number of officers and men. After two days of constant fighting 42nd Ddivision had pierced the Hindenburg Line and then withdrew to Havrincourt Wood for ten days rest.

The Division marched out of the rest area on 9 October and after three days marching arrived at Fontaine-au-Pir and Beauvois. Their next offensive action was the crossing of the River Selle between 17/19 October. Then the capture of Vertigneul on 25 October and on to the battle for the Forest of Mormal and Hautmont between 3/11 November.
