Owen D Posted 4 August , 2006 Share Posted 4 August , 2006 Amazing what can be discovered whilst moving house. I'd forgot these doodles from my sketch book, drawn about 18 years ago.

Owen D Posted 4 August , 2006 Author Share Posted 4 August , 2006 This one used to hang behind the bar at the TA Centre. It's a photo of a photo of the painting. Shiney cap badges, I know, aren't very tactical but it was to illustrate our Regiment.
Owen D Posted 4 August , 2006 Author Share Posted 4 August , 2006 One of the lads was ex-DERR, I did this one for him. Hope he's still got it.

Augustine Posted 13 August , 2006 Share Posted 13 August , 2006 First drawing--the hollow eyes are a nice touch. And forgive me, since this is going to sound like a really dumb question, but the reddish streaks on some of the soldiers' faces in the second and third drawings--is that shading, dirt, blood, or otherwise? Owen D Posted 16 August , 2006 Author Share Posted 16 August , 2006 Did this one in 1985. It's meant to be Uncle Dave,as in my avatar.Didn't really work did it? PS His nose is that shape. It was broken sometime in 1916 or before the photo taken July 17. It isn't broken in his 18th Birthday photo from March 1916.
