Tony Lund Posted 20 July , 2006 Share Posted 20 July , 2006 Arthur Coldwell Holmfirth and New Mill War Memorial: Holme and Holmebridge section. I am looking for the Arthur Coldwell who came from the Holmebridge - Hinchliffe Mill end of Holmfirth near Huddersfield, and I and hoping that the birth, enlistment, residence information in Soldiers Died will point to the right man. My two possibilities are: COLDWELL, A Private 29/701 09/11/1917 Northumberland Fusiliers COLDWELL, A Private 27560 18/01/1918 West Yorkshire Regiment I would be most grateful if someone will check these two men for me. Thank you, Tony.

HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 20 July , 2006 Share Posted 20 July , 2006 MiC shows 27560 West Yorks R. Coldwell as Alfred,so by process of elimination NF is the only Arthur!
Tony Lund Posted 20 July , 2006 Author Share Posted 20 July , 2006 Thanks to you both. Meltham is just over the hill from Holmfirth so the Northumberland Fusilier who was born Meltham enlisted Halifax is the best bet. (And the only Arthur in the pair!) Thanks again, Tony.
