gnr.ktrha Posted 13 July , 2006 Share Posted 13 July , 2006 hello, Think he is another RGA Gunner. He has two Good Conduct Stripes below his 1st Class badge. the troops did not tend to wear their dress tunics during the First War, most would be put into storage. So this and the other RA photo probably dates from pre 1914. Regards, Stewart
Tom A McCluskey Posted 13 July , 2006 Share Posted 13 July , 2006 Corcam, I'm with Stewart on this, RGA, as the crossed guns and crown was issued to 1st class gunners with coastal & heavy/siege - batteries/companies. As a Class I he would draw extra pay for 'professional proficiency', in accordance with Kings Regs 1912 (don't know about 1914 amendment) hope this helps Tom McC
