Stebie9173 Posted 11 July , 2006 Share Posted 11 July , 2006 He is probably this man: Medal card of Wheatley, Arthur Corps Regiment No Rank West Yorkshire Regiment 18/1439 Warrant Officer Class 2 King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Second Lieutenant http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...p;resultcount=1 His number as a Sergeant Major would have been issued by the 18th Battalion, but he may have transferred aftewards so one can't be positive. The date of arriving overseas from his 1914-15 Star entitlement will help if you download the card itself. Steve.
Saints & Sinners Posted 11 July , 2006 Author Share Posted 11 July , 2006 Thanks for that Steve, I've now got my work colleague checking with the family for what his first name was, and then have a look at the BWM & Vic, I'll get back online once I get the info.
