Hello

I am researching a subaltern who was with the above batteries from June 1915 - July 1917:

D/84 - 18th June 1915 - 23rd May 1916

C/85 - 25th May 1916 - 16th October 1916

A/83 - 17th October 1916 - 23rd July 1917

Any information would be appreciated. Thank You Anne P

The batteries in question belonged to the 18th (Eastern Division).

You can find a short history of this division at http://www.1914-1918.net/18div.htm.

For a more extensive account of the division, you may want to consult the published divisional history, which was recently reprinted by the Naval and Military Press. (You can find the book at http://www.naval-military-press.com/FMPro?...et.htm&-new )

As the author of this history was a gunner officer, it is quite possible that he mentions the man you are researching.

Good luck!
