HERITAGE PLUS Posted 6 July , 2006 Share Posted 6 July , 2006 The following is a quote from the St. Edmundsbury Borough Council Web-site. The Bury Free Press ran a series of anti German articles, with veiled references to a supposedly pro German local innkeeper. The Griffin was attacked by locally billetted Royal Engineers on 15th May, following these articles. Grateful for any information regarding this incident and the exact location of the pub involved. Stephen Nulty Posted 6 July , 2006 Share Posted 6 July , 2006 Dave There's some information here which looks like it might be of interest but it looks like you'll have to pay to get the PDF version.
