Remembered Today:

What happened at Fricourt German Cemetery

burlington

Recommended Posts

Usually reliable sources, no names(!), indicated that the Franco/German ceremony at Fricourt on 1 July would take place at 1730 hrs.

Imagine my surprise when, arriving at 1700 hrs, I found the gendarmerie departing, likewise all the people.

The best laid plans of mice & men!!

Any information Pals?

No clue, but maybe a time zone issue. Speaking from experience, you can imagine my frustration when I guessed wrong on the time delay and tried to catch the England/Portugal only to find it at half time rather than kick off.
