peteg Posted 2 July , 2006 Share Posted 2 July , 2006 I hope to be able to make a visit to the Ploegsteert Memorial and Le Touquet in the next few weeks. Can anyone recomend some good accomodation please ? Not too basic though as the wife will be with me. Walking the banks of the Lys is one thing, but roughing it she doesn't do ! The main purpose will be to see my Grandfathers name on the memorial (something no other family member has seen in 91yrs) and to try to get a picture or two of the area in which he died. Hope someone can help. Regards, Pete.

cockney tone Posted 3 July , 2006 Share Posted 3 July , 2006 Peter, a few miles north of Ploegsteert but I would pick Varlet Farm which is run by Charlotte a Forum member or if you want to stay in Ypres itself I like The Ariane Hotel. Good luck, Regards, Scottie.
