Guest Posted 11 June , 2017 Share Posted 11 June , 2017 (edited) Mate, I saw this and thought it maybe of interest. source: Birinci Dünya Harbinde Türk Harbi IV Cilt, 1 nci Kısım, Sina-Filistin Cephesi, Harbin Başlangıcından İkinci Gazze Muharebeleri Sonuna Kadar (Turkish War During WW1, Vol.IV, 1st Part, Sinai-Palestina Front, From The Beginning of the War till end of 2nd Gazze battles) p. 359 (Turkish casualties at;) Ugratina, Katya and Düveydar Battles: KIA: 8 officers, 146 men Wounded: 3 officers, 171 men Missing: 1 officer, 45 men On April 26 British intentionally raided by planes bombing 70 shells to the mobile field hospital at Birülabd killing 2 Turkish and 1 British POW. rewounding 4 Turks and 2 British POW While another account I read put losses at; 3 officers 33 men killed and 48 wounded I also noticed some thing in Kress book on this battle and included a part that OberLt Heinrich Sotyer, Adjt of Jatsa 300, which was at El Arish, that the Commander Heemskerk and his Adjt (Soyter) went with Kress force, which included (three) Bn's (other accounts say two Bns) 32nd Infantry Regt, Hedjaz Arab (Akendji) camel Regt under Maj Carl Muhlmann a German officer from 8th Cuirassiers, A Turkish camel Sqn under Halid Bey, and 6x Field How of 8th FAR, in all 3655 officers and men, with 225 horses and 1765 camels. Kress mentions the death of Lt Soyter when he joined in the Turkish Camel Sqn's attack and was shot to the head during the fight.
