Mercian Volunteer Posted 20 June , 2006 Share Posted 20 June , 2006 Does any member have a copy of the book " Deeds That Thrilled The Empire"? I'm reseaching about Private Blanton of the 2nd battalion of the Cheshire Regiment who won the DCM for an action in Feb 1915. He was later killed in 1917 with the 8th battalion. I've obtain a print from the magazine showing his action that was published in the series after the Great War. What I'm looking for is the information that accompanied the print. ( Note:- not the citation at the bottom of the print. ) Naval Military Press do a reprint but its a bit pricey! If any kind member has the book I would be most grateful if they could do a lookup and send me any further info. Thanks for reading this post. benson Posted 7 July , 2006 Share Posted 7 July , 2006 Sad to say 'what you see is what you get' It's on page 669 of the original printing halfway through Capt F O Grenfell's VC write up, I have flicked through 10 pages before and after 669 but no further information appears.
