What Army, where and When? Who can identify the uniform?

Does anyone know this uniform? I've had suggestions of 3rd hussars and Yoemanry circa 1880-1890. This is Alfred Davis trouble is I have two of them in the family and the photo is only labelled Alfred Davis. The older of them was apparently in the Army Scots Greys, Aldershot. The younger all I know was he was in the Army. I have checked the Scots Greys websites but couldn't find a uniform that matched.

Can anyone please help?

Not a brilliant photo to try and determine the unit, but I managed to blow it up before if blurred and noted it's a rearing horse within a oval. As far as I'm aware only two units used this symbol in their badges the first is a Yeomanry unit "The Duke of Gloucesters Own Royal East Kent Yeomanry(Mounted Rifles)", which were more commonly known as the "East Kent Mounted Rifles".

The badge of the EKMR was the oval Garter in gilding metal surmounted by an Imperial Crown. Within that the White Horse of Kent rearing on a scroll inscribed "Invicta" in white metal.

The other unit which wore a very similar badge was the Army Remount Service. It was a gilding metal oval surmounted by an Imperial Crown inscribed "Army Remount Service", and in the centre a horse rampant in white metal.

Looking at his uniform and the fact that he seems to be wearing bandsmans chords, then I would say he was East Kent Mounted Rifles, rather than the Army Remount Service.
