simb Posted 16 June , 2006 Share Posted 16 June , 2006 I'm trying to figure out who in my family this might be. That looks like a Middlesex Regt cap badge, yes? When would people have done things like this? Before, during, after the war? That would help me place it. I did have an uncle born in 1911-12, whose father was Middlesex Regt, I wonder if this would be he, although after what my grandfather went through I somehow doubt it. Sim.. Steve Bramley Posted 16 June , 2006 Share Posted 16 June , 2006 Blimey, He looks ferocious I would guess that this photo would have been taken just after the outbreak or early 1915, when patriotism was at its height. I have seen a photograph from about the same time of five brothers, four of whom had enlisted, they were all in full uniform. The fifth looked about the same age as your chap! Steve. gregs_yorkley Posted 16 June , 2006 Share Posted 16 June , 2006 Hi Sim, The little chap looks to be about 4 yrs old to me, so with what Steve says about 1915, this would fit with your chap being born about 1911-12. Good luck with your search Angela

gporta Posted 17 June , 2006 Share Posted 17 June , 2006 Officer Training Corps in Universities were in the OTC Senior Division, those in Public Schools and Grammar Schools belonged to the OTC Junior Division... I don't know if there were any OTCs in nurseries but I suppose they would be in the Toddler Divithion Gloria
