barrieduncan Posted 5 June , 2006 Share Posted 5 June , 2006 Hey, I'v been helping a friend research her relatives, and one of them is a Lt William Gavin Paterson, who, as his MIC states, was a Lt in the 6th Scottish Rifles and was attached to the 20th KRRC. I'v found a fair number of gazette entries for William, from his original commission in 1914 to his relinquishing of the commission in the early 20s. However, from the 12th of April 1918, Lt W. G. Paterson (as he is mostly referred to in the gazette) becomes known as Lt W. G. Paterson, M.C. I'm pretty sure this is our guy, as I haven't seen any info to any other W G Patersons, so I'm assuming there only was one. Could someone have a bash at finding his MC citation, i've tried all the searches I can think of and still can't find it? Cheers folks, Barrie
Audax Posted 5 June , 2006 Share Posted 5 June , 2006 War Services of Officers has Paterson W G (Lt Yeo) The War of 1914 - 18 London Gazette, 28 Nov 1918. M.C. However, this might not be your man, and I could find it on line either.
