However, this soldier is unusual in that his name was already on the Menin Gate! Some months ago I was researching the names on the Menin Gate Addenda Panels and I discovered that I could not find one of the earliest names on the Panel in the CWGC records - nor could they! To their consternation, they had no record of this name or when or why he was added to the Gate. Obviously paperwork had gone astray years ago. Therefore, they set about rectifying the situation and, after a lot of digging by several people, his details are now in place. He was......
