SiegeGunner Posted 30 May , 2006 Share Posted 30 May , 2006 Mick, Was the hospital at the former Quaker teacher training college, the Flounders Institute, which I think de-camped to Leeds around the turn of the century? I remember hearing about the place 30-odd years ago from a Quaker acquaintaince who lived in York, but whose family came from Featherstone. Unfortunately he never mentioned a military hospital. auchonvillerssomme Posted 30 May , 2006 Author Share Posted 30 May , 2006 Yes it was, it had a bit of a varied history. But I understand it was used as a hospital during WW1. it was a hospital for inebriates at one time as well. Its long gone now. Mick
