Responding to a post from eleven years ago, but very interested to know more. My relative named Michael Creed, 19976, a gunner, was killed in the Battle of Loos on 25th September 1915 and I wonder if this might be the same person as it is an uncommon name. In fact he is the only Michael Creed on the Commonwealth War Grave Commission website. Would love to know more. Thanks. museumtom Posted 17 February , 2019 Author Share Posted 17 February , 2019 All I can tell you is around 2004 Michael Creeds death plaque was purchased on Ebay from a Yorkshire dealer who in turn obtained it from dealer in Glasgow. Cheers. Tom.

Cheers. Tom. Thanks Tom. Michael’s widow died in Morpeth, Northumberland in 1968. Presumably it somehow found its way into the marketplace after that. I don’t expect anybody to part with it, although that would be a tremendous bonus, but I’d love to see a photo of it. I don’t suppose you captured a screenshot of the eBay posting? A bit unlikely, I know, since that was fifteen years ago.
