Hi Tom

I have wondered for a long time (probably since some unkind forum change cut your subtitle off) what the title of this thread really is!  Might it be worth changing so that it's clearer, and attracts attention?

Hello Liz, it was started to give the WW1 names on my bits and pieces and became a classic thread. If I changed the name now it might cause more confusion than clarity?

Kind regards.

 Tom.

I don't see how, Tom - at the moment it has no meaning, whereas i'm assuming it did have a meaning when it was completed by a subtitle.  I can see people who've been following it for a long time know what it's about.  I was just thinking you could give it a title that gives everyone a clue!  From what you say I gather people contribute names on medals and plaques that they have or that are missing? I guess omitting 'Here is a list of' would enable the original point to be reinstated.  But it's your thread, sorry for intruding...

Not a bother Liz, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Its become a classic thread with that title, so I am happy to leave it as it is. Perhaps you might consider starting a new thread with a title that pleases you? I will give you as much help as possible.

Kind regards.

Tom (just heading off for the weekend).

Hope you had a good weekend, Tom.

I do have a long-running formerly-classic thread myself, already, without starting any new ones.  It too suffered the removal of its subtitle in a forum upgrade, which I regretted, but the title itself remained a complete phrase and made sense, so people can find it easily, and there was no way of restoring it.  I couldn't help noticing that yours gave no clue as to content, so I was only trying to be helpful - frequently a big mistake, as here!  As I said before, sorry for intruding.

Liz
