Well done ItemCo16527 and Chaz.

Remember you do not have to say if it is a medal, plaque or whatever. You may do so if you wish but its not compulsory.

I have to add two of my own now, these were brothers and both died in 1918. They were from Otley in Yorkshire.

Thomas Simpson

William Simpson.

Keep up the good work guys and gals.

Regards.

Tom.

I only just found this thread tonight, and as I am off to France in the morning, my list will have to wait until I get back.

I will however like to ask any and all who may have medals etc. to Canadian Railway Troops, to let me know of the service number, surname, initials and, if possible, the unit. This is for a list of all CRT-men, I am compiling. I'd like to make absolutely clear that I am NOT trying to buy the items, I an ONLY asking for the names etc for my list.

Thanks in advance

Well done Neil, NoRemorse and Tafski.

A very special round of applause on the immense job done by Kevin sorting the list in alphabetical order. It must have taken a heck of a long time, well done!!. Keep in mind that some of these awards may have moved on, sold or traded since they were first posted here. I just wondered if this topic should be considered as a classic thread?.

Keep it up guys and thanks again.

Regards.

Tom.

Good man Gary.

Well done. I am glad to see that you only posted the names and first initials and not the award, medals etc. The reasoning behind this is that it will encourage pals to post what they have without being too specific. So a J Smith could be anyone of thousands of J Smiths but still might just be the special one pals have an interest in. Remember Guys and Gals the names posted here are of awards to particular men and it does not mean that they are for sale or available to trade or swop its just means that it exists. If you have something with a name on it from ww1 put it here. It just might mean something to someone. Pals please also remember this is not a 'wants' posting. To my knowledge there is only one award that was identified here as a relative to a pal and that award was given by a pal to a pal in the spirit of this WW1 forum friendship.

Thanks again.

Regards.

Tom.

I am not quite as pleased as you are, Tom. I have my medals in my collection fully described as impressed on the medal ie service number, rank, initials, name and unit. I would (and have been) undertaking a search in my database under the service number - quick and easy. Looking for, say, D. Cook, will take ages and I am not putting the time to it in the unlikely chance that I have one. I would love to reunite stuff from my collection but with just a name it won't happen for me.
