Guest KevinEndon Posted 23 June , 2008 Share Posted 23 June , 2008 Pals, if you got to page 10 post 244 you will get the Surname and Intials of all names listed. Say you were after Woodhouse P, you look at the number after the initials that gives you the post number. There are 25 posts per page. You may find a little more info on the post. If its just a Surname and intitial then send a pm to whoever posted the details. Hope that helps Kevin

1st AIF Posted 25 June , 2008 Share Posted 25 June , 2008 Hello all from a passionate collector. Listed below are the casualty section of my collection. They are all AIF infantry. I listed them in chronological order of when they went west, croaked, got knocked, spotted, drilled, blown up or any of those other romantic expressions the soldiers had for dying. Also listed is their final resting place or place of remembrance. If any of the readers are in England near the English or Welsh cemeteries listed, I would be most interested and appreciative of a photo of their grave in you have a lazy afternoon pop up. I will do the French & Belgian ones when I come over some time. As each day comes around I check for a casualty and pull out his medals for the day. Some months are busier than others. You can almost follow the path of the AIF in WW1 by looking at the cemetery locations. You can see the effects of the flu at the end of the war. norah13 Posted 8 July , 2008 Share Posted 8 July , 2008 Thanks len. I can see Kevin staying in this weekend. Keep up the good work guys and gals. Regards. Tom. Museum TOM, just had to say, Yours was a brilliant idea, getting forum members to list the names of the soldiers whos awards they have. The award is less important than the fact that your idea gave air to all those brave men. This would be a brilliant idea for 2014 rememberance day or something similar,to see all those service men/ heroes listed for the world to see. I for one have no idea where my GR fathers medals are, Old contemptable who died in Ypres. I am new to the forum and spend hours reading all the differnt areas of postings. Any ideas coming forward for the centenary? a badge would be great, polo shirts, as well as our favourite Poppies.
Droocoo Posted 8 July , 2008 Share Posted 8 July , 2008 I have a request for Cheesman. I know this is a little off the topic, and does not achieve anything!! But on the hallofmedals homepage www.hallofmedals.com there are many medals of Cheesmans. He collects this surname.
